MYTHBUSTERS SPEED CAMERA TEST

The top rating American TV show Mythbusters recently ran a series of speed camera myths. Were the items tested Phantomplate.com Photoblocker spray and their number plate shields? You decided - We aren't allowed to say more. The Mythbusters tests proved what we have been saying for a long time. The two covers tested didn't work well enough to fool anyone.

Ghostplates Protector series of number plate covers were NOT used in the Mythbusters test. Unfortunately, we were not asked to provide a sample for testing (Bummer!) (Mythbusters DVD's available here - We've got them all - Great show)

The independently run test seen in the photos on the left, was a flash camera test of the Phantomplate covers. Only our Super Protector passed with flying colours. ( With no flash unit used the Super Protector shows silvery instead of black on the camera image - see below)

1) Start with the Original Protector that will cover your plate from side angles. It is the best looking cover and hides the whole plate from both side angle views.
2) If you need overhead protections then go one step up and order the Super Protector which covers both side angles and overhead angle. (The Super Protector can only hide half the plate) If however you only want to avoid gantry cameras such as on freeways then only purchase the Overhead Protector. This will hide the whole plate from cameras looking down at your plate.

Australian FAST FOURS & ROTARIES TEST

The Fast Fours test of number plate sprays and covers was conducted in New South Wales (Australia). It sure killed the wives tale that hair spray worked as a number plate spray.

The plate cover used in this trial was the "Original Protector" cover. The Super Protector which is now available only masks half of the number plate.

Edward Krause : "Any time we got on an angle, the clarity of the digits would be severely reduced, to the point it made the digits 100 percent illegible. At night it proved even more effective even reducing the clarity from head-on. A tad expensive for what it is, The Protector lived up to its claims, can be made to custom sizes and has a one year warranty against breakage.."
